IslamicMarkets is a global financial services platform headquartered in London, with an additional office in Kuala Lumpur. The company provides specialized resources, data, and tools tailored for Islamic finance professionals, offering a comprehensive ecosystem for education, networking, and market insights.
Problem
The initial website faced several challenges:- Lack of Clarity: The site's purpose and value proposition were not clear.
- Overwhelming Content: Excessive pages and disorganized sections made navigation cumbersome.
- Visual Inefficiency: A light-themed interface with inconsistent design elements did not reflect the brand's identity or enhance user experience.
- Team and Help Pages: The traditional team page lacked a personalized touch, and the help sections were spread across multiple pages, creating friction for users.
Solution
To address these issues, a strategic redesign was undertaken:- Introduced a dark theme using the brand’s orange color palette for a modern and visually striking look.
- Streamlined content by simplifying sections and consolidating pages for better usability.
- Enhanced the header and navigation structure to improve discoverability and organization.
- Reimagined the company team page with a clean layout, featuring senior members alongside illustrations of London and Kuala Lumpur to reflect global presence.
- Consolidated the help sections of three products into a single, user-friendly page, complete with instructional videos and playlists.
Something Learned
The redesign of IslamicMarkets highlighted the importance of balancing creativity with practicality in UX/UI design. Working on the project underscored the value of:- User-centric design: Simplifying navigation and content flow significantly improved user satisfaction.
- Visual storytelling: Leveraging illustrations and animations enhanced engagement while reflecting the company’s global identity.
- Collaboration: Partnering with cross-functional teams ensured the final design was both functional and visually compelling.
